Anderson Emerole
Growing up in New York City, Anderson was introduced to Track & Field early, first through a middle school summer camp, and later joining his high school track team. It wasn't until 2008, when Usain Bolt came to New York and broke his first 100m world record, that he became hooked on everything about the sport. Since then, Anderson has been dedicated to learning, covering, and sharing the stories of the athletes who make the sport of Track & Field what it is.
After spending years commenting on the Track & Field News message boards, Anderson started writing a weekly blog in 2017 and later launched The Final Leg Track & Field on YouTube in 2018, focused on storytelling in the sprints, jumps, and hurdles. In 2022, Anderson attended his first meet as a credentialed member of the media, and since then, has covered events at every level, from World Athletics Championships and the Olympic Games to Diamond League meetings and USA Championships, as well as college and high school meets.
Anderson's work has included pre and post event reporting, athlete interviews, commentary, race analysis, video production, and historical research.
